BBD6 Broken Bag Detector

BBD6 Broken Bag Detector
SKU: BBD6-4100
The BBD6 utilises AC Coupled Triboelectric technology. As particles travel through the process they develop a charge. This charge is transferred as the particle passes or impacts the sensing element. The resulting current is amplified, filtered, rectified and further filtered looking only at the AC component, giving a linear representation of the concentration or mass flow rate of the particles in the gas stream. The reason for measuring the AC component is that, compared to the DC component, the electronics are more sensitive. The AC signal is substantially less affected by influences such as amplifier noise and process parameters, which includes the build-up of process dust on the sensing rod. The BBD6 remote sensing head totally filters out any 50 Hz or 60 Hz frequencies related to mains supply. The amplified signal is then sent via data cable to the control unit for further processing and display.

What It Does:
  • Continuously monitors for filter media leakage
  • Indicates relative condition of bags
  • Acts as a preventative maintenance tool

Goyen BBD6-4200 Broken Bag Detection System, will detect dust that may bypass a dust collection system and provide a relay output to a central control area where the alarm would be activated. The remote alarm is by others.

Control Panel (BBD6-4200) - in a NEMA 4 enclosure, which allows for remote adjustment of probe sensitivity, alarm set-point and time delay. An LED bar graph is provided, which displays current emission levels and unit set points. This assembly processes the signal and provides a relay output.

Active Head (P2-45200) is attached to the Sensing Probe and mounted to the duct. The active head filters out any 50 or 60 Hz frequencies related to the main supply power, amplifies the signal and then sends it to the Control Panel via the Belden Cable. Sensitivity settings are adjustable by use of an integral toggle switch built into the head

Sensing Probe, (P2-90100) - 3/8 diameter x 12 long manufactured from SS braided wire is to be mounted in the ductwork downstream of the dust collector. The head includes a compressed air purge port to allow for cleaning of dusts that may bridge the probe to the ducting. Compressed air supply, solenoid and timer by others.

Weld-On Coupling (S-1015) 1 BSP thread to be welded on duct for mounting of the Sensing Probe.
Benefits:
  • Detects most particles regardless of composition
  • Very sensitive due to AC coupled technology
  • Can monitor extremely small particles eg. galvanising fume (20.1 m).
  • Can be used over a wide range of particulate densities.
  • Can assist in dramatically reducing plant down time through filter failures.
